DAY 1:
Arrival of the delegations, meeting with the local volunteers, introduction to the contents of
the event and to the topic of the event; Integrational activities in Lahti city center
DAY 2:
Visit to the Kujala waste management center and seminar about waste management in
Finland, Lahti Region by Ms. Päivi Oksanen.
Visit to the Lahti city center, winter olympic games center and observation tower.
DAY 3
Visit to the Patina Recycling center and second-hand shop - meeting with Ms. Katja Ålander
on the topic "Recycling and circular economy activities in Lahti".
In the afternoom the delegates gathered at the Ski Museum in Lahti for the workshop
"Future themes of cooperation", where each partner presented their experiece during
WASTE project and shared the main wishes for future action in the field of sustainability and
green transition. Proposals for further actions in the Network of Towns or Erasmus+
frameworks have been forwarded. Ms. Jaana Kuula’s (City of Heinola) enriched the
workshop with a presentation on national and regional measures in recycling by the cities of
Lahti and Heinola

DAY 4
Activities at Salpaus Further Education school in Lahti, where Ms. Elisa Hassinen presented
the VET education system in Finland and the projects on sustainable buildings and circular
economy in the construction field in which the school has been participating.
Following, a seminar engaged the participant in sharing their key learning point acquired
from the WASTE project and in the draft of the final WASTE Partnership declaration "Future
Challenges and perspectives" through a group work activity.
In the evening the group moved to the Asikkala Salpaus Campus to take part in traditional
Finnish activities such as fishing and rowing in a «church boat».
Day 5
Greetings ceremony and departure of delegations.
The Fifth International Event applied green and sustainable strategies such as transfers
from Helsinki Airport to Lahti and back made by train instead than by bus, promotion of the
use of water flasks instead of buying bottled water, no food waste approach to meals.
The activities achieved the following results:
-Foster the friendship among the Partners;
-Debate the future challenges and cooperation fields;
-Active commitment in the debate, contrasting passive listening
