Arrival of the delegates. Registration of participants.
Presentation of the Programme and activities.
Welcome dinner with local volunteers.
Results:
-Transfer to the citizens and participants of activities and objective of this International Event;
-Foster the friendship among the Partners;
-Involvement of local citizens in the welcome activities.
Day 2
Workshop: “Presentation of partners grassroots examples of citizens initiatives”
Presentation of GREEN KEY concept by hotel ROMANTIC
Presentation of river cleaning initiative/Club of Divers “Gelmė”
Visit to Waste Management Centre of Panevėžys Region – Q&A with the director and sharing of
practices.
Team building at the park: Disk Golf Tournament.
Results:
-Workshop for the exchange of best practices to showcase how social responsibility, cooperation and
sharing of know-how help overcome problems;
-Boost democratic and active civic participation at local and European level;
-Raise understanding and tolerance among the civil society at different cultures;
-Strengthten mutual knowledge.
Day 3
Seminar: “Citizens Environmental Advocacy at local level”
Presentation of the European Citizens’ Initiative.
Lecture-workshop (Dr. Paulina Budrytė, Kaunas Technological University) in the Art Gallery.
Debate and point of view exchange.
Dinner in Bistrampolis Manor, where the book about the Polish-Lithuanian kingdom was written.
Results:
-Involvement of public authorities and experts in the activities;
-Boost the knowledge on the functioning of the EU policy-making process, laws and structure of the
Union;
-Raise awareness on the European citizens' initiative as a means of civic engagement at EU level;
-Better knowledge of local non-profit associations and exchange of experiences.
Day 4
Sightseeing in Panevezys
Project working: setting a European citizens' initiative proposal about Environment
Practical activity: Stereotypes train.
Results
-Boost the knowledge on the functioning of the EU policy-making process, laws and structure of the
Union;
-Raise awareness on the European citizens' initiative as a means of civic engagement at EU level;
-Confrontation about commonplaces, favouring intercultural dialogue and mutual comprehension,to
avoid past
opposition to solidarity at EU level;
-Fostering of friendship and fellowship among participants.
Day 5
Day in Biržai
Sightseeing karstic lakes, KIRKILAI Observation Tower, the longest bridge across the lake in
Lithuania
Visit to Biržai Castle and group work about European Integration
Operational meeting for
Results:
-Encourage EU action in favour of integration and solidarity among Member States;
-Dissemination to other regional authorities;
-Understanding of Lithuanian history, its process of accession to EU;

Day 6
Operative meeting to plan the Second International Event.
Gift Exchange and greetings ceremony.
Departure of delegations.
Results:
-Increase the Partners consciousness about the importance of a solid network of towns;
-Look at the future with more awareness of the roles and duties of being a European citizen;
-Look at the future of Europe to build the basis for brand new exchanges in the framework of the Union
policies.
